A Hearing Review article reports that EssilorLuxottica hosted its inaugural “Switch: Vision Innovation Summit” in Orlando, bringing together over 1,000 professionals to discuss emerging trends in vision care, medical science, and wearable technology. The event included sessions examining the linkage between vision and hearing health and how advances in consumer wearables may address multiple sensory needs.
According to the report, discussions highlighted technologies such as AI-enabled smart eyewear, wearable devices designed to support both sight and hearing, and research areas such as oculomics, which uses imaging and artificial intelligence to detect signs of systemic disease through the eye. Demonstrations and workshops at the event allowed participants to explore new diagnostic tools and wearable technologies that could influence future approaches to sensory health and accessibility.
