FCC Seeks Comment on Convo's Application to Continue Providing Video Relay Service | Comments Due November 12

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is asking for public comment on an application from Convo Communications, LLC (Convo). Convo wants to be recertified as a provider of Video Relay Service (VRS). Its current certification expires December 20, 2026.

VRS lets people who communicate in American Sign Language make and receive phone calls over a video connection with a sign language interpreter. VRS providers must be certified by the FCC. Recertification is how the FCC decides whether a provider can keep offering the service after its current certification period ends. Public comments give VRS users and other interested people a way to put their views on the application into the record before the FCC decides.

Comments can be filed through the FCC's Electronic Comment Filing System at https://www.fcc.gov/ecfs/filings. All filings must reference CG Docket Nos. 03-123 and 10-51. The FCC takes input in two rounds. First come initial comments. Then come reply comments, which respond to points other people raised in the first round. Filings become part of the public record. People with disabilities who need help filing online can email FCC504@fcc.gov.

Convo's redacted application is available at https://www.fcc.gov/ecfs/document/26110077571/1, and its amendment is at https://www.fcc.gov/ecfs/document/26110083645/1. General information about VRS is available at https://www.fcc.gov/vrs.
