Vue, one of the largest cinema chains in the United Kingdom and Ireland, installed an Auracast-based assistive listening system across 200 screens at 18 of its movie theaters. The installation uses the Auri system, co-developed by Listen Technologies and the hearing loop specialist Ampetronic, to broadcast a film’s audio directly to compatible devices.
At the equipped cinemas, visitors with Auracast-enabled hearing aids, cochlear implants, headphones, or earbuds can select a broadcast stream and receive audio directly. Dedicated Auri receivers are available for guests who do not have Auracast-enabled devices. The companies describes their installation as one of the first large-scale deployments of Auracast in the cinema industry, where audio clarity and background noise have long been barriers for moviegoers with hearing loss.
This is a UK and Ireland deployment, so availability does not extend to US venues.
