The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) cleared over-the-counter (OTC) hearing aids for sale directly to consumers over 18 with mild to moderate hearing loss beginning in October 2022. These assistive devices are intended to provide faster and easier options to treat more people who need support with their hearing.
HLAA is launching its OTC 101: Ask the Experts Webinar Series to provide people with information about this exciting new class of products. The first event on Nov. 1 features a panel of experts and audiologists from the FDA who will share information and take questions from the audience. HLAA Executive Director Barbara Kelley will moderate the discussion.
