Oticon Focus on People Awards 2025 Winners

The 2025 Oticon Focus on People Awards awarded three individuals for their hard work related to hearing loss, inclusion, and community support at a ceremony in Jupiter, Florida.

The award recipients were Brenda Schmidt of Naperville, Illinois, who has worked with schools to support children with hearing loss and written a children’s book to help families navigate hearing care; Jayden Rosenfeld, a high school senior from Livingston, New Jersey, who started a mentoring program linking younger children with teen peers for support and advocacy; and Ethan Ocker of The Woodlands, Texas, a university student in materials science engineering who also engages in mentorship and leadership activities through a campus club for deaf and hard of hearing students.

Each awardee received a $2,500 cash prize, a $1,000 donation to a nonprofit of their choice, and a pair of hearing aids with BrainHearing technology. The awards program, which has been running since 1997, celebrates people whose efforts broaden understanding of hearing loss and promote access and engagement.
