Phonak has released the Infinio Ultra series, the company’s newest generation of hearing aids built to make listening easier and more natural through artificial intelligence. The lineup includes two models, the Ultra R and Ultra Sphere, both powered by a real-time deep neural network chip that processes sound from every direction. The company claims that the chip recognizes up to 18 times more real-world listening situations than earlier versions, which can help wearers understand speech clearly in noisy or shifting environments.
The Infinio Ultra models reportedly uses up to 30 percent less energy, improving battery efficiency, and feature a redesigned wax protection system called EasyGuard that Phonak says reduces service needs by nearly 40 percent. Bluetooth support has also been upgraded, allowing users to connect with as many as eight devices and switch between two active connections at once.
