The Hearing Industries Association (HIA) has prepared Your Guide to Financial Assistance for Hearing Aids (2023) as a resource guide for those seeking financial assistance for hearing aids. While HIA does not manage an assistance program, this guide will provide information on the charitable foundations, private organizations, insurance plans, and government programs that help people access the hearing healthcare they need.
Note that the Guide offers a list of programs for which individual hearing aid users may or may not qualify. Restrictions for these programs include residency requirements, employment requirements (including federal and military employment), and age requirements (some focus on financial assistance for children only). In addition, some of the programs listed provide referrals only.
Hearing Industries Association (HIA), the developer of this guide, serves as a forum for hearing aid manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, and hearing health professionals. Members are responsible for the majority of the over 4 million hearing aids that are purchased in the United States on an annual basis.
