LXE Hearing, the parent company of the Eargo, Lexie Hearing, and Go Hearing over-the-counter hearing aid brands, has begun winding down its US operations. The company announced the decision on July 15, 2026, stating that efforts to restructure the business and pursue strategic transactions did not produce a viable path forward. LXE Hearing was formed in March 2025 through the merger of Eargo and hearX, the company behind Lexie.
Existing hearing aids are expected to continue providing amplification and their core functions. The Eargo and Lexie mobile apps remain operational for now, though the company has not guaranteed how long the apps will stay available for download or whether they will receive future updates. Customer service is confirmed available through at least September 15, 2026, for troubleshooting, eligible refunds, active warranty claims, and replacement-part requests as inventory allows. LXE Hearing has stated it is still developing plans for warranty administration and support beyond that date.
The company is advising customers to submit any unresolved warranty claims or requests for assistance before September 15, keep the app installed rather than deleting it, and confirm or update their account email address so they receive any future transition notices directly. Owners may also want to save their purchase records, including model and serial numbers and warranty information.
The wind-down affects the US consumer brands. LXE has not said whether the Eargo, Lexie, or Go Hearing brands might be acquired by another company. The situation may change as the company communicates further transition plans.
