Signia, part of WS Audiology, has introduced Signia MaX, short for Multi-adaptive Xperience, a new flagship hearing aid platform. It was announced August 24 and became available the same day in the United States, Germany, and the Nordic countries, with most remaining markets to follow later in 2026. MaX replaces Signia IX at the top of the company's range.
According to Signia, the platform uses four task-specific deep neural networks that work together, each trained on a different aspect of the sound environment: speech, noise, the surrounding scene, and the wearer's own voice. The company frames this as a response to the difficulty many hearing aids have in noisy group settings, where processing focused only on noise reduction can make an environment quieter at the expense of connection. Signia claims that the new chip provides more processing power, memory, and energy efficiency than the previous platform.
The device supports Bluetooth Classic and LE Audio, telecoil, and Auracast broadcast audio. According to Signia's own launch materials, full Auracast functionality does not activate until a firmware update expected by March 2027, though some feature lists present Auracast support without that qualification.
Performance figures cited for MaX, including the claim that 97 percent of wearers performed better in noisy group conversations compared with key competitors, come from Signia's own white papers rather than independent studies.
