The 160th convention of the Audio Engineering Society brings together audio professionals, researchers, and academics for technical sessions, workshops, and masterclasses focused on advances in audio technology and engineering.
Two sessions are of particular relevance to hearing access and hearing loss. A workshop presented by researcher Trevor Cox examines how audio engineering practices can be adapted to better serve listeners with hearing loss, drawing on recent research including from the Cadanza Project. A second workshop, presented by Hannah Baumgartner and Jan Rennies-Hochmuth, focuses on approaches to measuring speech intelligibility using the concept of listening effort, with applications for both research and professional practice.
